Lovey Read

Social Worker, Youthworks Co-Ordinator

Lovey has been part of the Peoples’ Activity Centre since day one back in 1987 as the founder of the organization.  She has kept it running over the years while being in many different roles, including but not limited to Social Worker, Youth Worker, Whanau Kaiawhina, coordinator, an overall Aunty figure to all children she has had an impact on and much more.  

In her spare time, she is part of many different groups and is often seen out and about doing something for one of these groups or anybody else that may need it. Her interests are far and wide from weaving, to craft work, to building model ships, and as many of the children believe, there is nothing that Lovey doesn’t know or can’t do. 

 

Morgan Young

Youth Work Apprentice, Office Support

Morgan has been with the team at Peoples’ Activity Centre since 2019, starting off as a volunteer and then being employed as our office support. She also started her youth work apprenticeship in 2020 and has been the fill in facilitator for 2020.

Born and raised in Stratford, she continues to live here with her partner and 2 children. She enjoys spending her spare time with friends and family, either being out and about like at the beach or just chilling at home watching movies. 

 

Milton Whareaitu

Alternate Education Facilitator

Milton started with us in 2020 as the facilitatir for the Alternate Education. The role of facilitator is to provide supervision, support, assisstance and planning to specifically meet the educational needs of the students attending Alternate Education. Program on a daily basis and provide encouragement to all students to contribute the best possible educational experience.
