About us

We are a place where young people and their families of all walks of life can come to chill, feel safe, listen to music and play pool or table tennis. We have computers available for young people and the community to use for research, homework and social networking. Our youth nurse is available by appointment for any health needs as well. We have an open door policy so if you want any more info, have look around our site or come in and see us to have a chat.

The Youth Nurse comes from Ngati Ruanui Iwi Heath Service and is accessible through making an appointment with us.

Korero about the painted fridge featured on the wall and article in Stratford Press

The idea behind this painting acknowledges the people of Aotearoa and its land. The connection between the whenua and its protectors. The whakaaro demonstrates Maori Mythology about the creation of our earth Papatuanuku and her beloved Ranginui after they had been seperated, allowing their children to grow and develop themselves. This whakaaro is a metaphor for mother earth and the skies, allowing humanity the right to grow, develop and use our natural resources as a way of living and feeding back to the land etc. However, you can see in the polluted waters and ochre-burnt orange skies, that they havent been treated right. Humans have abused their land and have become ignorant to what allows us to live the lives we have all chosen. Now we have everything that we have ever needed and wanted, we are now ruining our land and soon we will have nothing. We need to live in humility to be grateful and satisfied with everything we have been given.
